Gelatin: The main ingredient, accounting for 40-50% of the total weight.
Plasticizer: such as glycerin, sorbitol, about 20-30%.
Water: 30-40%, used to dissolve gelatin and plasticizers.
Pigment: Added as needed for the coloring of capsules.
Preservatives: such as sodium benzoate to ensure the preservation of the capsule.
2. Preparation of gelatin solution: in a water bath of 70-80°C, the gelatin, plasticizer and water are mixed, the solution is fully stirred to dissolve, and the gelatin solution is uniformly obtained.
Color and viscosity adjustment: add pigments and preservatives, adjust the viscosity and color of the solution according to the formula requirements.
Forming: Using rotary mold technology or die molding technology, gelatin solution and filling are injected into the mold at the same time to form a capsule.
Drying: Excess water is removed by gradual drying (20-30°C) to achieve the desired strength and elasticity of the capsule shell. Inspection and packaging: The finished product is inspected and packaged after it is qualified.
3. Formulation and process adjustment of soft capsules of different specifications Small specifications (1-5 ml) : viscosity requirements are low (30-50 mPa·s), and the proportion of plasticizer in the formula can be slightly increased to ensure that the capsule is soft and easy to swallow.
Medium size (5-10 ml) : Maintain moderate viscosity (40-60 mPa·s), enhance the mechanical strength of the capsule, and ensure durability and shape stability.
Large size (10-20 ml) : Increase the freezing force value (200-250), and the moisture content in the formula is slightly lower to enhance the strength of the capsule shell and prevent deformation and rupture.
