Due to the serious environmental problems caused by traditional plastic packaging waste, degradable plastics have become the focus of the industry. Biodegradable plastics such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) can be decomposed by microorganisms in the natural environment to reduce "white pollution". Many companies have increased their R&D investment to develop degradable plastic packaging products with better performance and lower costs. Some food companies have begun to use degradable plastic lunch boxes and packaging bags.
Recycling and recycling are on the rise: Improving the recycling rate of plastic packaging and realizing resource recycling is the direction of industry development. Many companies have established recycling systems to encourage consumers to recycle plastic packaging. For example, some beverage companies have launched a plastic bottle recycling plan, and consumers can exchange empty bottles for points or gifts at designated locations. At the same time, advanced plastic recycling technologies continue to emerge, such as chemical recycling technology, which can decompose waste plastics into original monomers or other basic chemicals, and reuse them to produce new plastic packaging, thereby increasing the recycling value of plastic packaging.
Popularization of green design concepts: Consider environmental protection from the source of product design, adopt simple packaging design, reduce the use of unnecessary packaging materials, optimize packaging structure, improve packaging space utilization, and reduce the amount of packaging waste. For example, some electronic product packaging adopts foldable and nestable design to reduce packaging volume, facilitate transportation and storage, and reduce the use of plastic.
