Not all plastic bottles are microwave-safe. Whether a plastic bottle can be heated depends on the type of plastic material used. Common materials like HDPE and PET are not recommended for microwave use, as they can deform or release harmful substances at high temperatures.
In contrast, PP (Polypropylene) has better heat resistance and is often used in microwave-safe food containers. If a bottle is not clearly marked with a microwave-safe symbol, it's best not to heat it.
Heating unsuitable plastic may lead to:
- Melting or warping
- Chemical leaching (such as BPA or phthalates)
- Food contamination
At Mingda, we use high-quality HDPE and PET materials for our bottles-ideal for packaging but not intended for microwave heating. We recommend transferring contents to a safe container if heating is required.
