Can PP Material Be Recycled

PP material, that is, polypropylene material, can be added with recycled materials. The following is a detailed introduction:
Feasibility
Chemical stability: PP material has good chemical stability. After being processed, the basic chemical structure and performance of recycled materials are relatively stable, and they have good compatibility with new PP raw materials. Therefore, after adding recycled materials, as long as the proportion is appropriate and the treatment is proper, some basic properties of PP materials can still be maintained, such as corrosion resistance and insulation.
Physical property matching: The physical properties of recycled PP materials, such as density and melting point, are relatively close to those of new PP materials. After proper screening, cleaning and processing, recycled materials can replace new materials to a certain extent, and mixing with new materials can meet the needs of some products that are not extremely demanding in terms of physical properties.
Actual application
Packaging field: In some ordinary packaging products with relatively low requirements for appearance and performance, PP materials with recycled materials are often used. For example, ordinary plastic packaging bags, plastic turnover boxes, etc., adding recycled materials can reduce costs and also achieve the basic functions of packaging.
Injection molding products: Some small injection molding products, such as plastic hangers, plastic trash cans, etc., also use PP with added recycled materials. By reasonably adjusting the formula and process, products with reliable quality that meet the needs of daily use can be produced.
Notes
Recycled material quality: The quality of recycled materials varies, and they may contain impurities, be contaminated, or have aging and degradation problems. Therefore, before use, the recycled materials need to be strictly tested and screened to ensure that their quality meets the requirements, otherwise it may affect the performance and quality of the final product.
Addition ratio: The addition ratio of recycled materials needs to be determined according to the requirements of specific products. If the addition ratio is too high, the mechanical properties and heat resistance of the product may be significantly reduced, affecting the performance and life of the product. Generally speaking, the addition ratio of about 30% - 50% is more common, but for some products with high performance requirements, the addition ratio will be lower.
Processing process adjustment: After adding recycled materials, since the characteristics of recycled materials may be different from those of new materials, the processing technology needs to be appropriately adjusted, such as adjusting the processing temperature, pressure, injection speed and other parameters to ensure the molding quality and performance of the product.
